Compounds and Elements?

solid A is an element because it just changed states (so from solid to liquid) whilst solid B is a compound because it released a gas from it, so it has changed to something different. An element when heated r cooled will only change states. A test that can be done to identify solid B is the Solubility of Anions and Cations
