Why are conservative so angry about New York's decision?

As a libertarian, I have no problem with it. I believe in state's rights, why are they all of a sudden against it when it goes against their own moral beliefs? I don't morally agree with it, but I'm not going to hold everyone up to my morals and it's not harming anyone else. So why are they so angry?
